MAY 2023: COGITO PROJECT NEWS

27th of April to 28th of April 2023, 6th General assembly Cogito meeting was held on Edinburg.

Consortium Partners of Cogito project met for the 6th time at the The University of Edinburgh for the General Assembly to discuss the project progress, focusing especially on the new pilot site in Munich. Mr. Martin Straka from Novitech a.s. predented progress related to development of Workflow management tools WODM and WOEA. These application will be implemented on the first pilot site in Munich in the next weeks.

The project is going to the phase of pilot implementation, our tools are the orchestrator of the most important parts of the project - Digital Twin Platform and Process Optimation System. In next month we will focus on user experiences and fine tuning of both tools.

MARCH 2023: PROJECT COGITO NEWS

The process of ICT systems pre-validation has started. In order to test the system with realistic data, the construction project in public transport in Karlsruhe was selected. For the section of 140 meters, the 'as planned' data was created in the requirements of the COGITO ICT system regarding each use case. This includes the BIM model in IFC 4.0 format and the detailed construction schedule. During the construction phase, measuring devices and sensors were used to collect the 'as build' data. This includes point clouds, drone images, photos, videos and geopositions.

All involved partners reviewed the 'as planned' and 'as build' data from the pre validation site, resulting in adjustment of the data in post processing as well as fed back to T8.1 in order to accommodate tool/interface refinements and data requirement refinements.

Novitech a.s. is preparing validation of both provided tools, WODM and WOEA, in real project environment.

JANUARY 2023: COGITO 2nd Review Meeting

New reports, new results, and positive feedback from European Healts and Digital Executive Agency.

The year 2023 got off to a very busy start for the COGITO project. COGITO partners completed second year of reporting, presentation to HaDEA members the results of the project in the various areas of implementation.

On January 23rd COGITO second Review Meeting was held with the participation of HaDEA representatives to assess the results and activities undertaken in the project in 2023. All participants presented both the progress of the work involving the development of individual COGITO tools, as well as the organization of individual pilot sites, business and marketing plans.

Involvement of Novitech a.s. is mainly focused on the work instructions crafted by managers and targeted towards workers. These work instructions are distributed throughout the whole system and adhere to a process of optimizations based on the resources availability, construction state, and other variables. Our part of the system is also responsible for the calculation and distribution of KPIs relevant to the construction process, and creation of smart contracts between the workers and their assigned work orders.

The most important achievments during the last 2 years of the project duration are focused on the following outcomes:

  • Digital tools for Quality Control
  • Digital tools for Workflow Management
  • Digital tools for Health and Safety
  • Integrated Digital Twin Platform
  • Demonstration on the construction sites

OCTOBER 2022: I5ARC PROJECT PROPOSAL

Novitech has succesfully submitted proposal to Call: HORIZON-CL4-2022-HUMAN-02 (A HUMAN-CENTRED AND ETHICAL DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITAL AND INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGIES 2022).

The I5arc project will develop a sustainable and human-centred methodology for next-generation Human-AI collaboration processes, utilizing and advancing State-of-the-Art technologies and methods on knowledge creation and modelling, semantic collaboration, interoperability, and explainable AI. The project focuses on the manufacturing context, which has significant untapped potential for productivity and resilience gains through responsible Human-AI collaboration and provides a highly relevant field for developing and testing the solutions to extrapolate in other societal contexts.
The European manufacturing industry's key challenge is improving its productivity and resilience against the turbulent market and resource availability conditions. Industry 4.0 technologies have created a considerable foundation to cope with this challenge.
However, providing technical solutions alone will not address this challenge fully if the human and interoperability aspects are not considered thoroughly, as shown in recent impact studies.
I5arc proposal shall address this challenge from Industry 5.0 perspective by developing multi-agent (Human, IoT, Robot, AI service) collaboration architectures, enabling synchronization and human-controlled knowledge sharing within the execution of complex manufacturing processes. The objective is to introduce innovative and generic concepts for up-to-date human-centred plant-level collaboration knowledge creation and sharing to improve the processes' productivity and resilience. Human empowerment will be facilitated by trustworthy and explainable AI services and technological means- assisted reality, mixed reality and extended reality (company metaverse). The project methodology enables human adaptation as an active participant in these new architectures by providing access to plant knowledge and learning on-demand AI-assisted services directly from their workplace.

OCTOBER 2022: PRACTICAL TOOLS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR IN DIGITAL TWIN – WEBINAR

Novitech a.s. is developing a system of tools designed to create and manage work orders that can be used on building and construction projects. This European project is focused on the concept of the so-called The Digital Twin of the future building, the state of which is constantly updated to match the state of the currently constructed building.

Novitech a.s. is participating on development of application tools that place emphasis on managing multiple work orders at once, managing tools and human resources, and finally, managing individual workers and their work roles.

On 4th October 2022, COGITO consortium hosted the webinar "Practical Tools for the Construction Sector in Digital Twin", recommended for everyone interested in Digital Twin and current practical solutions in that area. During this session, public was informed about the progress that this project has made. It was also great opportunity to get feedback from future customers providing various polls.
